How to Make a Small Bathroom Appear Bigger

How to Make a Small Bathroom Appear Bigger

How to Make a Small Bathroom Appear Bigger

Small bathrooms can make things difficult for you because their size makes movement difficult, and also, since they are mostly crowded and messy, and sometimes they are without enough space even for natural light to shine. However, you can still make your small bathroom appear bigger, and these tips are here to help:

Add more light

One way to make your bathroom appear bigger is by adding more light, and also by using a single light color in painting the ceiling and walls. This way, your bathroom will appear more spacious.

Mirrors

With larger mirrors, you will always get that feeling that your bathroom is bigger. In addition to having larger mirrors, if possible, add more mirrors.

Store things smartly

Leaving items hanging around the ground can eat up space quickly, so it is advisable to hang these items and also install wall shelves and cabinets to hold items.

Minimize items

Having too many items in the bathroom will make the space appear small and crowded, so any item you are not using at the moment or don’t necessarily need in the bathroom should be taken away and stored elsewhere.

Let the bar touch the celling

You can create an illusion that your celling is very high by raising your shower curtain bar very high to the celling. Not just shower curtain bars, you should also raise sheer curtain panels to the ceiling as this will also make the window appear larger, making your small bathroom look larger.

Put the bathmat away

Seeing the bathmat all the time may make your bathroom to appear smaller than it already is, as it will eat up some space. When not in use, you can put them away to give the floor a bigger and larger look.

Don’t use a swinging door

Using a swinging door can make your bathroom appear smaller since it will take much space, depending on how small your bathroom is. The way out here is instating a sliding door since it won’t take up the little space you have.

Your flooring should be light in color

No matter how bright and light your ceilings and walls are, a dark floor will overshadow their effect and make the space look small. For this reason, make sure you use light flooring to ensure that the space appears bright and open enough.

Use glasses without frame

If you use glass shower doors that are very clear, the bathroom will appear very large. On the other hand, frosted glass makes everywhere look smaller. This is also what happens with frames around the glass. With a frame, your bathroom may look irregular instead of open and smooth. The shower tile should be the same from floor up to ceiling, this is because having the same design from the floor upwards makes everywhere in your bathroom seem unified and spacious.

Conclusion

Adding just some little touches and changes to your bathroom can make its appearance more pleasing, and shockingly make it feel roomy. With these little tips, your bathroom, no matter how small it is will begin to appear big and full of space for you.
