Locating and Hiring a Home Stager Without Going Broke

Locating and Hiring a Home Stager Without Going Broke

Locating and Hiring a Home Stager Without Going Broke

One way to earn huge in the real estate market is through home staging. However, even though it promises huge returns, home staging can be expensive, and you may get discouraged to venture into it. But you shouldn’t get discouraged because of the expenses, because you surely can become successful without breaking the bank. Here’s what to know:

Figure Out the Scope & Budget of Your Staging Project

To get things right, you first of all have to figure out the budget and scope for staging your listing. With home staging, sale price is increased by roughly 6%, and with this figure, you can know what to budget. After having a budget, the next thing is to strategically plan out the scope of your staging project. This is done through critically analyzing various factors such as rooms to stage, time frame for staging, etc.

Cost for home staging

The price for home staging varies and it depends on the location, scope, quality of furnishing and length of staging. Nonetheless, stages generally charge three different fees, one for initial consultation, which is mostly not more than $500, another for delivery and furniture installation mostly starting from 1,500 and not more than 10,000, and a monthly fee for the staging renting, not more than $5,000 for a month.

Should you go for Virtual Staging?

Fair to say, the costs for staging can scare away some homeowners, and you may want to consider virtual staging. Virtual staging might not be expensive but it is effective, as it allows you to stage various rooms in different styles to entice different buyers. This will help your leads visualize how best they want a space to be.

Finding & Interviewing Professional Home Stagers

Finding professional home stagers is something you need to do right, and you can do this through a couple of ways. One of the best ways is to ask for recommendations from those you are close to in the industry. Another way is by searching through local rating sites like Yelp, and you should ensure that you look through their website to see if their atmosphere fits your listing.

You should also ensure that they are experienced in staging homes related to your listing. Ensure that the home stager you want to hire is experienced in staging homes that has similar style and price range to yours. If they fit your expectations, you should now proceed to the next step which is visiting their website and social media channels and also asking them for more before and after photos.

From here, you should ask the few you have picked some questions by calling them. This should be rather casual and you should ask them certain questions to clear the air on their mode of operation. Among all these questions, never forget to ask if they have an insurance, and if they don’t, flee! After interviewing them, proceed to get at least quotes from three different stagers to see which one fits your budget and needs.
